Provide dignity with specialised adult changing places facilities
We provide Pre-construction design assessment for the proposed internal layout and Certification services for your Changing Places Australia project or your NCC Accessible Adult Change Facilities Project.
Only a Changing Places Assessor can certify a Changing Places facility. We have three Changing Places Assessor's in our Vista Access Architects team
Changing Places Australia Facilities (CPAFs)
Changing Places Australia is an initiative providing accessible bathroom facilities for people with high support needs who are unable to use standard accessible toilets.
Facilities are larger han standard accessible toilet and include essential features such as a height-adjustable adult change table, ceiling hoist, peninsula toilet and sufficient circulation space for the person and up to two carers, enabling people with significant disability to access community facilities with greater dignity, safety and independence.
NCC Accessible Adult Change Facilities (AACFs)
The NCC recognises the need for Accessible Adult Change Facilities (AACFs) to provide a higher level of accessibility than a standard accessible sanitary facility. An AACF is designed for people with significant disability who may require assistance with toileting and changing, and typically incorporates features such as a height-adjustable adult change table, ceiling-mounted hoist, accessible toilet, washbasin and adequate circulation space for a person and carers.
There are some subtle differences between the AACFs and CPA facilities.
